Edward:  Hello Chad and welcome to Connex247 family. Tells us about your hometown, family, your heritage.. What are your personal and professional interests?

Chad: I grew up in the small town of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. It’s a nice little town with minimal crime and poverty. They recently just built a new high school and it seems be attracting more and more people to move there.

Chad CastellanosI have an amazing family that supports  me no matter what I choose to do in life.  Not every kid has that, and I am very thankful for that.  I have one sister that is married to a great guy, and they have a two year old daughter that is such a little character.

My Mom’s side of the family is a mixture of Irish, French, German, and Bohemian. My dad’s side is Cuban. My dad’s family moved to the United States in 1968 from Cuba in search of a better life. My Grandparents on both sides have quite the interesting lives, and I could probably babble for hours about them.  I grew up playing baseball, hockey, and soccer. In second grade My neighbor at the time and his cousin got me interested in riding bmx bikes. Eventually him and I ended up tearing down my swing set one day without my parents approval, and replaced it with a ramp. My dad wasn’t too excited about it, but he eventually grew into it. Shortly after, my parent’s backyard basically turned into a skate park.

Chad CastellanosMy friend and I just recently built a house with the help of my brother in law. The house is two levels and each of us have our own living quarters. I also have a ramp in our garage that we bike and skateboard on.  I like to read about anything. Whether it’s from reading or first hand experience I think it’s great to have better understanding in how the world functions. I never took the opportunity to attend college, so I’m sort of a self educator.

I like to party once in a while, but an ideal night for me would be having dinner and just relaxing with a girl. There’s nothing better than that.  Traveling is important to me, and I love experiencing other cultures. Mexico is one of my favorite places to go, but I know that if I ever get the chance, Cuba will be my favorite country to visit.

Chad CastellanosEdward: When and why did you start a career as a model? As a model do you think you have already achieved your main purposes in the modeling market? If not, which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers would you like to work for?

Chad: I broke up with my ex girlfriend and was really depressed. I was lonely, so I put my picture on some picture rating site to try to ease my pain and get a little attention. I was then approached by a small business in Minneapolis to model for them. I was very skeptical, but I figured I didn’t have anything to lose.

I modeled with them for about two years, and then was either gonna quit working out as much as I was or search for more jobs. I got positive feedback from several Agency’s and other business including the online magazine All American Guys. AAG got me my first modeling job out of state. I’ve never really wanted to be a model, and I actually hate getting my picture taken outside of the studio. I’ve sort of just entered into the industry accidently, and now im finding out what it has to offer for me. Never really have had any expectations or intentions. I just got with the flow. So far so good.

Chad CastellanosI don’t think I have achieved my main purpose in this industry yet. I am currently interested in working with anyone who has legitimate work for me. I also have some exciting modeling and acting jobs coming up that I am looking forward to.

Edward:  I am sure you might have some funny/unusual model backstages stories. Share with us some of these moments.

Chad:  Mainly just dishonest photographers. The majority of them have been great, but I’ve come across a couple photographers that I didn’t really care for.

Edward:  Are you a fashion guy? What do you usually like to wear when you are not working?

Chad CastellanosChad: It depends. A lot of the time I don’t really care what I wear. I wear a white blank t-shirt and jeans half the time. I dress nice occasionally, but I’m not that big into fashion. Perhaps that’s why I enjoy modeling because I get to dress up and wear clothes that I normally wouldn’t wear.

Edward: What would you consider your best feature, physical and otherwise?

Chad: That’s tough. I don’t really consider nothing special, but if I had to choose I would say my eyes, or my abs. I consider myself a nice person. I’m a bit shy around new people, but I think the people that have met me would categorize me as a kind person.

Edward: What are you most passionate about and why?

Chad: I’m passionate about social justice, friends, work, and family. I am passionate about these things because that is what my parents and grandparents taught me.

written by leightonfan#1 on July 19, 2008

Oh, the cruel gods of the NOT KNOWING have yet again decided to pay homage to my misery by once more illustrating their means of evil in allowing another fine specimen of MANHOOD to exist while not knowing I am alive.
Oh, Chad, if you only knew I am here gazzing at you with thoughts of what could be.
What could be?
Well, I do hope what will be, is a career which takes you beyond your dreams.
Now where are those bitch goddesses. Cruel. Cruel. Cruel.

Best of Luck Chad!!
